Guiding the Next Generation

At Rocky View Breeders Association, we believe the future of ranching starts with the next generation. Our Youth Program is designed to support young cattle producers as they develop the knowledge, responsibility, and business sense needed to succeed in the livestock industry.

Youth Program: Breeder Financing

Whether you're an aspiring rancher from a multi-generational farm or just getting started with your first heifer, the RVBA Youth Program is here to help you grow.

Who It's For

The program is open to youth aged 18 and under who are actively involved in raising and managing cattle. Many of our participants are involved in 4-H or are taking on their own projects at home, and we're proud to back their efforts with real-world financial tools and mentorship.

How It Works

RVBA provides youth loans to help producers purchase breeding stock, including heifers and cow-calf pairs. These loans are tailored specifically for young applicants and come with hands-on guidance from experienced cattle producers and association members.

We walk youth through the application process, help them understand loan repayment, and support them in developing responsible herd management practices.

What Youth Can Finance

Under the Youth Program, financing is available for:

  • Heifer Calves

  • Bred Heifers

  • Cow-Calf Pairs

All animals must meet RVBA’s livestock standards and be intended for long-term herd development, not for immediate resale.

What Makes This Program Unique

This isn’t just a loan—it’s a mentorship opportunity. Our board and staff are cattle producers, and we take pride in providing support beyond the numbers.

From selecting the right genetics to learning the ropes of record-keeping, we’re here to set young ranchers up for long-term success.
